Simply put,it is a system to trace the origin of grapes used to make a particular wine.The Union ministry for food processing has given a green signal to the project.

A private agency will prepare a report defining the scope of the system for the Indian market and submit it to the Union government in a few months.Besides,a software required to run the system will be ready for use by the end of November, said Jagdish Holkar,president of the Indian Grape Processing Board,a subsidiary of the Union ministry for food processing.
