Brief Background: Food Import Clearance System (FICS) is a web based application to facilitate FSSAI port officers to clear the food consignments after following a rigorous quality check process. The system allows Importers and their agents to file their application online and track its status through various stages of processing. The system has facility to pay online, conduct on-site inspections to report observations and laboratory sampling process. Once the consignment is found to be safe, the port Authorised officer can generate No Objection Certificate online.
