Brief background: Spices Board (Ministry of Commerce, Government of India) together with GS1, is planning to set up an electronic platform for implementing sustainability, traceability and e-commerce for the farmers.
It is a Pilot project for a limited number of farmers, aggregators and buyers for Dry Chilli(First Year) & Turmeric(Second Year). This pilot shall be carried out in two different sub-districts in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh.
Based on the learnings during these two pilot implementations, Spices Board is planning to setup a full-fledged eSpiceBazaar to cover the entire sector for all products, both for domestic and international buyers.
